The Valencia CF coach reflects on the match against RCD Espanyol
A perfect afternoon for Valencia CF was capped by a celebration fitting of the occasion. Valencia CF qualified for the 2019/20 edition of the UEFA Champions League, and basked in the glory of a Top 4 finish at Valladolid’s José Zorilla stadium.
As well as the players, there was also elation amongst the VCF coaching staff, including coach Marcelino being brought to tears, and assistant Rubén Uria and fitness coach Ismael Fernández taking embracing.
After celebrating on the pitch, the squad headed to the dressing room -where the party continued. That included Valencia CF majority shareholder Peter Lim greeting the players, alongside president Anil Murthy.
The two directors thanked the players and staff individually for all of their efforts this season, and were even part of a dressing room water dousing.
An exciting Copa del Rey final awaits next Saturday in Seville, but for now there is time for a brief celebration of a tremendous achievement.
